Core Issue
Supporting Local Business
Our local businesses are our neighbors. I support them at the counter, at licensing hearings, and by making city processes work for small operators—not against them.
Small businesses deserve a city that works with them.
I shop local because I know the people behind the counter. But supporting local business isn't just about where I spend my money—it's about how the city treats small operators.
During my time on the License Committee, I worked to make permitting approachable rather than adversarial. When a business owner has a question, they should get a clear answer, not a runaround. When regulations apply, they should make sense for a small-town context—not impose big-city burdens on neighborhood shops.
St. Francis thrives when our local businesses thrive. I'll continue advocating for sensible licensing, showing up at openings and community events, and making sure city hall is a partner—not an obstacle.
What I'll Fight For
Approachable Licensing
Keep the permitting process clear and navigable for small operators.
Local Presence
Continue attending business openings and community events.
Sensible Regulation
Ensure city requirements make sense for small-town business realities.
